Making our historic school come to life again!!
In 2012 the Board of Directors established the Pleasant Valley Community Center (PVCC) Facility Improvement Project with a specific mission to upgrade, improve, and maintain the PVCC building and grounds to make it more conducive toward the encouragement of general community activities as a rural community center and toward better access and use by the elderly and disabled (cost approximately $96,720).

The Pleasant Valley Community Center serves thousands of citizens within a rural area embracing northern Bexar, Kendall and Comal Counties. Over 60% of the community is aged and 14 % are disabled, making ADA compliant restrooms, with access into the building, a much needed part of our project at this time. Along with these restrooms outside of our main building, we will also need to create storage rooms and improve and weatherize a mechanical room which is needed to accommodate new electrical circuitry and the storage for tables, chairs, other furniture, tools and equipment, as we also create an ADA access doorway and hall into the building from the new restrooms.

Stadler Custom Homes agreed to assist us with the restroom portion of the Project which is well along to completion at this time. Stadler Custom Homes has solicited bids for certain parts of the project and accompanying renovations and with their deligence, have provided us with a new set of ADA restrooms on the north side of the campus that will have access to the historic school house which should be completed soon. Hunter Stadler and his Scout Troop 185 have completed his Eagle Scout Project by putting all the finishing touches of insulation, siding, paint, caulking etc to the new bathroom building. We so appreciate all their efforts that will total to a gift of over $30,000.

We also recieved a wonderful $16,000 grant from the Lower Colorado River Authority and Perdenales Electric Corporation that assisted us in renewing all our electrical and plumbing infrastructure within the building and on the grounds in 2013. We also have recieved assistance from Walmart and Frost Bank of Boerne that will help us with this project.  We also appreciate all of our kind donors who have given of their time, talent and donations toward this project.

The Pleasant Valley Community Center would appreciate your consideration of a donation toward the completion of this project because we have a long way to go. We still need about $50,000 in funding to complete all necessary upgrades that will make the Center (and historic school) a sound, safe and comfortable place to visit and enjoy.

We would appreciate
